I was sitting in LA, on New Years Eve 2000, with Eric Holland, and he told me I needed to hear this group, Binary Star, and since he'd hooked me up with It's The Motherfucking Remix that I'd been recently bumping, I decided to give it a listen. 2000 was a time in hip-hop where fools were talking about going to jail, and it was spoken of a lot, in glamorous terms.
